Souls Footwear NZ — Our Story
Good footwear,
made properly.
Two brands, one standard. From the Sunshine Coast to Sri Lanka to New Zealand
this is where Souls began, and why it matters.
Souls — Australian Origins
Where it all began.
Souls began on the Sunshine Coast of Australia, grounded in surf culture and a simple idea — good footwear, made properly.
The original concept came after a trip to the Maldives, where a unique pair of massage jandals sparked interest back home. What started with friends and family quickly evolved into a redesigned product, developed through trial, feedback and refinement.
From those early days at Moffat Beach, Souls has grown into an internationally distributed brand, known for its distinctive massage footbed and focus on durability, comfort and everyday wear.
Waves — Everyday Simplicity
Simple. Natural. Vegan.
Alongside Souls, Waves offers a more relaxed, everyday take on jandals. Originating in Sri Lanka, Waves is designed for comfort, simplicity and ease of wear.
Made from 100% natural rubber, the range is completely vegan and built as a durable, no-fuss option for everyday use. Produced using responsibly sourced materials and efficient manufacturing processes, Waves focuses on delivering a considered product that performs well and lasts.
New Zealand — Local Direction
A husband and wife team.
Local focus.
In New Zealand, Souls Footwear is led by a husband and wife team, bringing both Souls and Waves to market locally and shaping the brand's direction here at home.
Working with trusted manufacturing partners in Sri Lanka, the focus remains on quality, responsible production and considered material use. Souls jandals are made from a combination of EVA and natural rubber, while Waves are crafted from 100% natural rubber.
All products are made using non-toxic materials, with waste minimised through on-site recycling and natural rubber sourced from Sri Lankan plantations.
Together, Souls and Waves provide different options under one standard — simple, considered, and built to last.
Recycling & Materials
Responsible production,
every step.
The Souls manufacturing facility is committed to responsible production, with a focus on reducing waste and using considered materials. Souls jandals are made from a combination of EVA and natural rubber — both non-toxic materials.
Natural rubber is sourced from Sri Lankan plantations, and the manufacturing process follows strict international standards including REACH certification. A portion of the rubber used is recycled through the manufacturer's on-site recycling facility — offcuts are reprocessed into new products, minimising waste and extending material use.

Every step of the way.

REACH Certified
The manufacturing process follows strict international standards, including REACH certification — ensuring all materials are safe, non-toxic and compliant with global requirements.
